You will work alongside our senior staff and management personnel, learning from their experience as you develop your skill set. Forvis Mazars Student Associate Program is an excellent opportunity for a sophomore or junior accounting student who would like to gain valuable experience in the tax department of Forvis Mazars. How You Will Contribute
- Work with client personnel to reconcile account differences and analyze financial data
- Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, or other tax returns
- Calculate tax extension or estimate payments
- Participate in client meetings alongside Forvis Mazars partners and managers
- Are highly detail-oriented
- Strong initiative and problem-solving abilities
- Commitment to client service and maintaining confidentiality
- Strong organization and time management abilities
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to balance academic schedule with the workload for multiple clients and projects while consistently meeting deadlines
We are able to be flexible with your school schedule providing you are able to:
- Accommodate our normal business hours of Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm
- Have the ability to work each day of the week (M-F)
- Commit to at least 15-25 hours per week during the Academic year
- 20 hours per week during the summer
- Student associate candidates must be working toward a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Must maintain a minimum cumulative overall GPA of 3.0
- Satisfactory academic performance in major-related coursework is expected
- Ability to balance academic schedule with the workload for multiple clients and projects while consistently meeting deadlines
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Fluency in Microsoft applications including Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Must have reliable transportation to and from your assigned office and be able to attend off-site meetings and events in person
