Controller - New Jersey (hybrid)

We are working with a high volume distribution company seeking a Financial Controller who has demonstrated success leading a small accounting and finance team and working hand in hand with private owners to lead the organization.

Full comprehensive knowledge of how EDI integrates with ERP / WMS is required. Excellent experience utilizing NetSuite is a high preference.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage corporate accounting functions including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliation, consolidations, month-end close and all related financial reporting
• Work with leadership team to develop and implement standard and automated processes and procedures, increasing departmental efficiency around recurring financial and accounting functions where applicable
• Execute month-end close and support executive leadership with development and delivery of monthly reporting packages
• Work closely senior management to develop and consolidate the annual budget, update forecasts, etc.
• Create ad hoc reports as needed and participate in a variety of special projects when assigned
• Provide support for the annual external audit process

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Applicable knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, financial reporting
• Solid organization, procedural and ERP system skills
• Highly organized and able to work independently with little direction, effectively prioritizing to manage multiple, competing projects simultaneously
• Able to work collaboratively across departments with excellent communication skills

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting
• 5 years related distribution accounting experience
• 3 years of staff management experience

While the role is hybrid in nature, you must live within practical commuting distance of Fort Lee NJ. The compensation for this role will fall between $130k - $160k. A comprehensive benefits package is available.
