What are the responsibilities and job description for the Real Estate Operations Associate position at Forum Group Connecticut, LLC?
About the Role
This is a newly created Real Estate Operations Associate role at a lean, entrepreneurial commercial real estate lending and private credit firm — roughly $700M in assets, founded in 2016. You'd be the first person dedicated full-time to loan servicing on a small, hands-on team, working closely with accounting, underwriting, legal, and investment colleagues day to day. It's a true all-hands environment: broad exposure, fast learning, and real ownership from day one, on a steady (not punishing) in-office schedule.
What You'll D
- Maintain the loan system and database that the entire organization relies on for accurate, up-to-date loan information
- Support the full life-cycle of loans, recording transactional activity in our internal loan servicing platform
- Enter, maintain, and cross-check loan data across internal systems to support real-time portfolio management and reporting
- Partner with leadership to build and improve reporting dashboards, meeting periodically to review results together
- Manage and enhance reporting for borrower and investor statements, loan tapes, lender covenant requirements, and institutional investor reporting — including direct communication with external parties on related questions
- Collaborate cross-functionally with servicing, accounting, underwriting, legal, business development, and investment teams
- Contribute to firmwide efforts to automate and improve processes across the operating platform
Must-have
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 1–3 years of relevant experience — backgrounds in audit (public accounting, financial services, or real estate) are a great fit; prior lending experience is not required
- Self-starter who thrives working independently in a fast-paced, lean team environment
- Strong attention to detail and sharp problem-solving skills
- Comfortable taking direction from multiple stakeholders and balancing competing priorities
- Tech-savvy, with the ability to quickly learn new software and reporting tools
- Genuine curiosity and drive to learn broadly across the business, not just one lane
Nice-to-haves
Prior experience in loan servicing or credit operations
