Controller – $3B Multi-Strategy Hedge Fund | Stamford, CT $400-500K
Forum Group Connecticut has been exclusively retained by one of Fairfield County’s fastest-growing hedge funds to identify a Controller for its Stamford-based headquarters. With $3B in AUM and a dynamic multi-strategy platform, the firm is scaling rapidly and seeking a seasoned financial leader to partner directly with the CFO in a highly visible role. Succession planning is in motion, making this an exceptional long-term leadership opportunity.
The Opportunity:
This is a mission-critical position overseeing all non-investment related functions with a core focus on:
• Accounting and financial reporting
• Fund and management company tax strategy and oversight
• Operational infrastructure and technology optimization
• Team leadership and cross-functional collaboration
Ideal Background:
• 13 years of progressive experience in a hedge fund or alternative asset management environment, preferably middle market and multi-strategy
• Proven ability to lead teams, streamline systems, and build scalable finance operations
• Strong grasp of tax, GAAP, and fund structures
• Exceptional communication and executive presence
• CPA and public accounting background preferred, but not required for the right operator
Compensation:
Total package in the $400K–$500K range, aligned with experience and impact.
