KNBN Newscenter1, the NBC station in Rapid City, SD, provides quality broadcasting to all of western South Dakota, and portions of northeastern Wyoming and southeastern Montana. They are an award-winning station, taking home a Meteorologist of the Year award from the Wyoming Broadcasters Association in 2025. Job Summary

As a News/Sports MMJ, you will be responsible for writing stories, conducting interviews, shooting video and editing stories for our newscasts. You will do live reporting, covering breaking news and sports stories as they happen. You will anchor our weekend sportscasts and fill-in anchor for both sports and news. The successful candidate will have exceptional writing, communication and organizational skills.

Essential Functions

• Anchor and produce sport segments during the Saturday and Sunday newscast.
• Report on a variety of news and sports stories, including high school and college sports, and other outdoor sporting events, developing unique content to drive audience engagement.
• Shoot and edit video, and edit stories for newscasts.
• Write news and sports scripts for broadcast and digital platforms.
  
  

Qualifications

• Journalism, communications, or a related field degree is desired, though equivalent experience will be considered.
• Videography and video editing experience is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be creative, hardworking and a self-starter.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is insurable by the company.
• Must carry an acceptable level of vehicle insurance as required by the company.
