The Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant is responsible for conducting informal speech-language screening without interpretation, as developed by the attending speech-language pathologist. Provide direct treatment assistance to students at all grade levels and diagnoses under the supervision of the supervising speech pathologist and follow and document direct treatment plans or protocols as developed by the attending speech pathologist.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Conducting informal speech-language screening without interpretation as developed by the attending speech language pathologist
• Providing direct treatment assistance to students at all grade levels and diagnosis under the supervision of the supervising speech pathologist
• Follow and document direct treatment plans or protocols as developed by the attending speech pathologist
• Document specific student progress toward meeting established treatment goals and communicate with the speech pathologist as to progress or concerns
• Assist SLP with formal assessment of speech and language including but not limited to preparation of documents, and performing clerical but not evaluative duties as required
• Scheduling activities and preparing therapy materials, charts and graphs best suited for a wide variety of school aged cliental
Requirements / Qualifications
BA degree from an accredited college or university recognized by the American Speech and Hearing Association. Completion of an extensive based supervised internship program leading to pending or active state licensure to practice as a qualified Speech and Language Assistant. Complete a minimum of 12 hours of continuing professional development as required by national and California state standards every two years
