Summary of Position: As a key member of the leadership team, the Warehouse Supervisor will oversee all Warehouse activity.  Ability to direct personnel towards maximum performance will set you apart as a leader. The Warehouse Supervisor exercises discretion in the oversight of the entirety of inbound and outbound activities to include safety, picking, packing, receiving, rotation, organizing, and SQF Standards to meet, exceed company established food safety strategy. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Available as resource, hands-on leader and mentor to warehouse team members.
  • Leadership responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, work planning, appraising performance, discipline, and problem solving.
  • Assists in keeping physical condition of the Freezer, Cooler, Dry Storage and Dock area by rotating & organizing inventory. 
  • Hands on contributor to the execution of processes that results in “on time” inbound and outbound flow to internal and external customers.
  • Clearly communicates to peers and senior leaders’ problems / success stories regarding KPI’s, staffing needs, team member performance, interdepartmental or company concerns. 
  • Assists with daily inventory issues, ensuring communication with sales representatives, purchasing and leadership as needed.
  • Responsible for the oversite of inbound freight ensuring accuracy and quality from the point of receipt to put away in the correct location.   
  • Facilitate resolution of any issues with the warehouse team members and leads the training of new team members.
  • Coach team members daily and partner with Human Resources, Peers and Senior leadership with implementing PIP (Performance Improvement Plans) for team members/ team leads as needed.
  • Lead accident investigations to ensure protocol and timeliness or report is completed.
  • Conduct plant inspections to ensure food safety and sanitation programs are effective.
  • Lead the Sanitation team to ensure cleaning and sanitation procedures meet state, federal and GMP requirements. 
  • Ensure environmental testing, ATP monitoring and water testing programs are completed.
  • Monitor and verify all receiving shellfish temperature records to comply with HAACP plans. 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2 plus years of foodservice warehousing experience.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Good communication skills in English (written and verbal).
  • 2 or 4-year Degree preferred but not required.
  • Basic understanding and ability to use MS Office Suite
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions and supervising instructions.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. 
  • Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours, when needed.  

Physical & Mental Demands:

  • Stopping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities. 
  • Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees. 
  • Crouching: Bending body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
  • Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force to thrust forward, downward or outward. 
  • Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Lifting: Raising objects from a lower position to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position – to – position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.
  • Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palms. 
  • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly. 
  • Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication. 
  • Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment. 
  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
  • The worker is subject to environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. 
  • The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause workers to shout to be heard above ambient noise level.
  • The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
