Job Title: Night Auditor
Job Summary:
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Night Auditor to join our hotel team. The Night Auditor will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel during overnight hours by reconciling daily financial transactions, performing front desk duties, and providing exceptional guest service. The ideal candidate will be reliable, organized, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Financial Duties:
- Conduct nightly audit procedures to reconcile daily revenue, including room charges, food and beverage sales, and other miscellaneous transactions.
- Verify the accuracy of cash, credit card, and other payment transactions by balancing revenue totals and completing audit reports.
- Prepare and distribute financial reports to management and department heads.
- Front Desk Operations:
- Provide exceptional guest service during overnight hours, including check-in, check-out, and addressing guest inquiries and concerns.
- Assist guests with reservations, room assignments, and room changes as needed.
- Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and handle guest requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Security and Safety:
- Monitor security cameras and perform routine patrols of the hotel premises to ensure the safety and security of guests and property.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents during overnight hours, including medical emergencies, disturbances, and fire alarms.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Complete end-of-day procedures, including preparing and distributing daily reports, updating reservation systems, and processing night audit paperwork.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of guest accounts, transactions, and room availability.
- Assist with administrative tasks as assigned by management, such as filing, faxing, and photocopying documents.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with other hotel departments, including housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage, to coordinate guest services and resolve issues.
- Collaborate with the front office team to ensure a smooth transition between shifts and provide updates on overnight activities.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in hotel front desk operations, accounting, or night audit preferred.
- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in computer software applications, including property management systems (PMS) and Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of hotel safety and security procedures.
- Availability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
