The Production Lead will manage a team of workers, coordinate production schedules, and ensure the facility operates smoothly to meet customer demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage production staff to ensure efficient processing, packaging, and distribution of seafood products.
- Monitor product quality throughout the production process, ensuring seafood is processed and handled according to safety and quality standards (e.g., HACCP, FDA, USDA).
- Ensure all equipment is operating efficiently, perform minor troubleshooting, and coordinate repairs or maintenance with the maintenance team.
- Train new team members on production procedures, equipment use, and food safety protocols, while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Assist in tracking raw materials and finished goods inventory, ensuring proper stock levels to meet production demands.
- Ensure the team adheres to all safety standards and food handling regulations to maintain a safe working environment and prevent contamination.
- Maintain accurate production records, including product yields, waste reports, and downtime, and provide reports to upper management.
- Address production challenges, resolve bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Education – High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience – One to two years of related experience in food production. Seafood experience preferred.
- Work ethic – A sense of urgency in meeting critical and time sensitive deadlines.
- Accuracy – Demonstrated ability to accurately pack product in a timely fashion. The ability to lift 25/50/pounds regularly.
- Language – Basic English speaking and written proficiency.
- Mathematical – Ability to perform basic arithmetic tasks – adding, subtracting, dividing, and multiplying.
- Environmental: Willingness to work in a cold climate of 35º
