Assistant Manager Job Description
Reports to: Store Manager, CFO
Shift: Varies, Full-time
Position Summary: Upholds the Core Values as determined by the management team. The primary responsibility for all positions with Fortuna ACE is to Amaze Every Customer Every Time. The Assistant Manager is responsible for opening and closing a store and performs other administrative duties in a retail setting. Their main duties include assisting customers when needed, making sure the store is organized, neat and tidy and ensuring the alarm system is working properly.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Responsible for opening and/or closing the store and securing all store assets.
· Open and/or close registers.
· Coach sales associates on inventory management best practices.
· Help train employees to maintain and update plan-o-grams throughout the store.
· Execute the daily operational, day-to-day goals and priorities assigned by store management.
· Protect company assets by following all loss prevention procedures, train sales associates on same.
· Address all safety concerns promptly and report any incidents immediately to Store Manager or CFO.
· Update store management team about the progress of the store and staff on a regular basis.
· Actively participate in weekly leadership meetings.
· Ensure all receiving is completed in compliance with company procedures to maintain an accurate inventory.
· Process damaged and defective goods in a timely and accurate manner.
· Participate in the processing of new shipments and help the team to keep the receiving and back stock area clean and organized.
· Review daily, W.E.A.D. (Walk Every Aisle Daily), appearance of in-store and displays and end caps and oversee necessary changes to improve overall presentation.
· Be a positive, consistent, and respectful role model.
· Use the E.C.E.T. (Every Customer, Every Time) process with EVERY customer interaction.
· Recommend related items when appropriate and executes S.A.L.E.S. process.
· Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements.
· Be on alert for possible merchandise losses and report any missing or damaged merchandise to Store Manager.
· Advise store management of any pricing errors.
· Follow and enforce all policies in the company handbook.
· Complete other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
· High School diploma is required. College degree or some college is preferred.
· Skilled in merchandising and visual presentation.
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment.
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· A friendly, helpful attitude, ability to work with people. A willingness to learn product features and applications to better help our customers solve their home repair problems.
· Retail or Hardware knowledge preferred
Minimum Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods, as well as frequent walking, reaching, and bending to perform job duties.
- Move and handle merchandise up to 80 pounds.
- Adjust fixtures throughout the store, which entails assembling, lifting and displaying.

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
