JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Field Engineer to provide on-site technical support, installation, and maintenance services across private 5G cellular network environments. This role is critical to ensuring high availability and performance SLAs for our customer and is an integral role on the team. This position can include telecommunications and cellular network maintenance, trouble resolution, commissioning, installation, server maintenance, connectivity, RF testing, fiber testing, supplier/vendor management, alarm monitoring, responding to critical customer outages, and more. This could also entail remote technical support for other projects and or other short (1 to 2 day) wireless and IT enterprise deployments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·        Perform on-site maintenance, installation, commissioning integration of cellular and/or telecommunications and IT network equipment (e.g., radios, antennas, fiber, small cells, transport, and switch/router devices).

·        Travel to customer sites, including government facilities, to maintain, test, and/or install systems according to specifications and project requirements.

·        Provide maintenance and emergency restoral services for wireless infrastructure, including fiber diagnostics and testing.

·        Conduct monitoring, remote system testing, and troubleshooting to ensure proper functionality and adherence to performance standards.

·        Respond to service events with appropriate parts and tools, ensuring timely resolution (SLAs: 4-hour, NBD, 24x7).

·        Conduct site surveys, solution architecture reviews, and post-deployment testing (e.g., OTDR, RF and logical/physical mapping).

·        Collaborate with NOC and Tier I–III support teams for remote diagnostics and escalation.

·        Document service activities and provide feedback for continuous improvement.

·        Provide KPI reports, both internal and external.

·        Create SOPs, MOPs, and SMOPs as required.

·        Provide training and technical support to Fortress employees on the operation and maintenance of systems and equipment.

·        Provide end-user training to the customer on connectivity, setup, and system usage.

·        Adhere to safety protocols, industry regulations, and company policies throughout the maintenance and/or installation process.

QUALIFICATIONS

·        3 years of experience in wireless field service and/or telecom installation.

·        High school diploma required; technical associates degree preferred.

·        IT and Telecommunications certifications are desired.

·        Proven experience with LTE/5G technologies, fiber optics, and RF engineering.

·        Understanding of networking concepts and electrical wiring principles.

·        Proven experience with telecommunications network gear and connectivity.

·        Ability to work independently in diverse environments and travel as needed.
