We are looking for someone who enjoys working with their hands and staying on the cutting edge of building technology. A detail-oriented Low Voltage Technician to join our field team. In this role, you’ll be the backbone of our technical installations, ensuring our clients’ security, connectivity, and automation systems run flawlessly. We serve commercial accounts in the tri-state area and across the nation. Your skills should include project design and roll-out experience, running cables, terminating devices, precision mounting of equipment and troubleshooting low voltage systems. Includes networking and programming of Access Control, Video and other Low Voltage systems. Must be a self-starter, client service and project planning oriented to partake in site surveys and installations, with the ability to lead and work independently. Position has growth potential.
What You’ll Do
- Install & Integrate: Run, pull, and terminate Cat6, Coax, 18/4, and 22/6.
- Experience in frame preparation and hardware integration for electrified locking hardware.
- Install and configure hardware for CCTV (IP/Analog), Access Control, Burglary Alarms, and Wi-Fi Mesh networks.
- Use multi-meters and cable testers to identify and resolve signal issues or hardware failures.
- Interpret floor plans and schematics to execute precise cable paths and device placement.
- Assist in providing basic training to end-users on how to operate their new systems.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 3 years in low voltage installation (Security, A/V, or Telecommunications).
- Proficiency with power tools, ladders, and testing equipment, and lifts.
- A valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- A professional "can-do" attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a crew.
- Experience with low voltage systems, access control, CCTV, or alarm systems.
- Strong understanding of relays and low voltage wiring.
- Knowledge of IP addressing, subnetting, and network troubleshooting.
- Experience configuring network-connected devices.
- Ability to use testing equipment and basic hand tools.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift equipment and work on ladders when required.
- Ability to travel (overnight, possibly multiple days).
- MUST be willing to travel by air at least 25% of each month, if needed.
