Overview

Fortified Brands is looking for an Estimator to join our Estimating team. As part of our Customer Experience and Revenue Enablement organization, you’ll work with our sales team, architects, engineers, and contractors on building projects globally throughout various stages of project design, specification, and approval.

As an Estimator, you’ll rely on your technical knowledge and mathematical aptitude daily to analyze and interpret project plans and materials, estimate accurate material take offs, determine pricing, and create project quotes. You will help to deliver optimized results for a variety of building projects.

The ideal candidate for this role will have experience with commercial and residential cabinet and countertop design and experience with ornamental perimeter solutions and deck framing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Review project plans and specifications
  • Perform detailed material takeoffs
  • Prepare accurate project estimates
  • Develop customer project quotations
  • Design cabinet and countertop layouts
  • Interpret architectural drawings and blueprints
  • Verify project scope and requirements
  • Collaborate with sales and customers
  • Support specification and approval processes
  • Recommend value-engineered project solutions
  • Coordinate project revisions and updates
  • Maintain estimating documentation accuracy
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Communicate project requirements clearly
  • Support successful project execution

  • Analytical Thinking – Evaluates drawings, specifications, layouts, and project requirements to develop accurate material takeoffs, pricing, and project solutions. Uses data, technical knowledge, and experience to support sound decisions.

  • Problem Solving – Identifies project challenges, specification conflicts, and design constraints. Develops practical solutions that meet customer expectations while supporting operational and business objectives.
  • Professionalism – Represents Fortified Brands in a professional manner through effective communication, accountability, responsiveness, and positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Project Management – Coordinates estimating activities from project inquiry through quote completion. Tracks revisions, communicates status updates, and ensures deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
  • Teamwork – Contributes to a collaborative work environment by sharing knowledge, supporting team members, accepting feedback, and working toward common departmental and organizational goals.
  • Technical Expertise – Demonstrates proficiency in reading construction documents, performing takeoffs, utilizing estimating and drafting software, and applying industry knowledge related to cabinetry, countertops, deck framing, and perimeter solutions. Maintains awareness of product offerings, installation methods, and industry best practices.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of estimating experience within the construction or building materials industry
  • Experience with commercial and residential cabinet and countertop design, ornamental perimeter solutions and deck framing preferred
  • Working knowledge of fabrication and installation is helpful for better understanding of customer needs
  • Experience with estimating software, like Chief Architect, DraftSight, etc. and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and other technical materials
  • Understanding of how to integrate drawings and specifications into projects
  • Must be able to oversee a project from start to completion
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Bilingual – English/Spanish a plus
  • Proficiency with NetSuite ERP and CRM, is a plus
