Retail Cashier/Runner

Join Defender Marine, New England's trusted marine outfitter for over 87 years! We're looking for a friendly, dependable Part-Time Cashier to join our retail team. If you enjoy helping customers, working in a fast-paced environment, and have retail or cashier experience, we'd love to meet you.

Schedule

• 20–30 hours per week
• 2–3 days per week
• 8-hour shifts between 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM
• Weekdays and Saturdays (closed Sundays)
  
  

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide outstanding customer service
• Process cash, credit card, and other sales transactions accurately using a point-of-sale (POS) system
• Answer customer questions and assist with returns and exchanges
• Maintain an organized, clean, and professional checkout area
• Support the retail team with daily store operations
• Help create a positive shopping experience for every customer
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of cashier, retail, or customer service experience preferred
• Previous cash handling and POS system experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to multitask
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Boating or marine product knowledge is a plus but not required—we provide training
