Director, Software Product Management

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director, Software Product Management to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of our software products. You will work cross-functionally with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer support teams to build innovative products that solve customer problems and drive business growth. You will be a key decision-maker for the product roadmap and will lead a team of product managers to deliver high-quality software that aligns with our company’s goals and objectives

Responsibilities:

• Product Strategy & Vision
• Lead the product strategy, vision, and roadmap for the company’s software products.
• Understand market trends, emerging technologies, customer pain points, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions.
• Define and communicate a clear product vision to ensure alignment with the overall business objectives.
• Set ambitious yet achievable product goals, aligned with both short-term business needs and long-term strategic growth.
• Cross-functional Leadership
• Collaborate with engineering, customer support, UX/UI, marketing, and sales teams to deliver products that meet customer expectations and business requirements.
• Lead and mentor a team of product managers, ensuring they have the tools, knowledge, and guidance to succeed.
• Champion the voice of the customer within the company and advocate for the end-user experience.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Product Development & Execution
• Oversee the product lifecycle from ideation through development, launch, and iteration.
• Prioritize product features and enhancements based on customer feedback, business value, and technical feasibility.
• Ensure timely and quality delivery of product releases by managing and mitigating risks.
• Create and maintain detailed product documentation, including requirements, user stories, and product specifications.
• Identify and mitigate product risks if any including market, regulatory and technical risks.
• Market Analysis & Customer Insights
• Conduct regular market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and threats.
• Use customer feedback, surveys, analytics, and user testing to refine product features and validate product assumptions.
• Track product performance metrics and key success indicators to ensure the product meets user needs and business outcomes.
• Product Lifecycle Management
• Manage the product lifecycle from concept to end-of-life, ensuring continuous improvement and iteration.
• Manage product budget including resource planning and maximizing return on investment
• Implement product governance processes to ensure consistent quality and compliance with company standards.
• Oversee product launches, including go-to-market strategies, marketing collateral, and sales enablement.
• Leadership & Team Management
• Lead and grow a high-performing team of product managers, providing mentorship, feedback, and career development.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the product team.
• Manage and develop team resources, allocate responsibilities, and ensure effective communication.
  
  

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• 10 years of experience in product management, with at least 5 years in a leadership or senior management role, particularly in software product management.
• Proven track record of delivering software products from concept to successful launch.
• Strong understanding of software development processes, agile methodologies, and project management.
• Experience managing and mentoring product management teams.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
• Ability to think strategically and translate business goals into actionable product plans.
  
  

Other Qualifications Desired:

• Knowledge of product management tools (e.g., Jira, Aha!, Trello).
• Experience with user-centered design principles and agile development methodologies.
• Understanding of data-driven decision-making and analytics platforms.
• Familiarity with financial modeling, P&L responsibility, or pricing strategies.
