Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare plates in accordance with departmental procedures and quality standards
- Inspect plates for adherence to quality standards and maintain required documentation for plate specifications in accordance with departmental procedures
- Review and assemble necessary elements for Production in accordance with departmental procedures
- Verify plates to be complete and correct against job paperwork prior to release from the department
- Create plate jackets and label standard folders and maintain their filing systems
- Review plate jackets for completeness upon return from Production and identify missing or damaged plates
- Communicate with Graphics and Scheduling to prioritize jobs in order to meet customer expectations, deadlines and scheduling requirements
- Perform tests to ensure equipment is in proper operating condition in accordance with departmental procedures
- Communicate with supervisor regarding any issues with equipment and/or supply requirements
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition in accordance with quality and safety standards
- Complete and maintain all required paperwork and documentation
- Maintain a filing system for plate jackets and label standards
- Work as part of team in supporting the Company’s total quality efforts by supporting continuous, on-going process improvement, methods, and productivity
- Attend training classes and keep current with the latest technology and software tools
- Comply with all certification requirements
- Other duties, including special projects, as assigned
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of related work experience in a printing environment.
- The ability to prioritize, multi-task and be proactive in the completion of job duties.
- Expert level attention to detail and organization/collation.
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, quick turn environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
- None.
- Willing to attend required training courses or sessions related to the job as assigned.
- General office related physical requirements:
- Type and manipulate a computer mouse / keyboard.
- Sitting, standing, reaching, bending and move about the facility including office and production areas.
- May be required to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Regular exposure to dust and noise while in the production environment.
- Pass a pre-employment drug test and subject to random drug screening.
- Regular exposure to dust and noise in the production environment.
- Warehouse environment temperatures may be influenced by outside temperatures.
- Safety glasses and steel toe shoes are highly recommended in the production area.
