Flexible Packaging Finishing Press Operator

As a Flexible Packaging Finishing Press Operator, you will follow proper SOPs for all varnishes, laminates, and slitting of printed and non-printed roll stock and pouches to meet the production standards related to customer specifications. As the Press Operator, your primary objectives are to improve quality, eliminate rework and claims, and improve efficiency of the Flexible Packaging Department while also providing the best customer experience and lead times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform all press operator job duties in a safe and responsible manner.
• Follow proper SOPs as instructed.
• Ensure high quality operation of finishing equipment.
• Operate finishing equipment in a safe manner with a high level of quality and attention to detail.
• Ensure compliance to all principles and standards for finishes (Thermal, Lamination, OPV) and slitting.
• Perform quality test using testing equipment for validation.
• Maintain a clean working environment.
• As a press operator, you will support other areas of production as needed.
• Exhibit understanding of materials and topcoats and their various applications.
• Use system to track material usage and properly advance to next step in production process.
• Additional duties as required.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

• High School (GED)
• At least 1 year of related experience required, preferably in a similar press operator role

Training Requirements:

• Willing to attend required training courses or sessions related to the job as assigned.

Physical Demands:

• Lift up to 25 pounds routinely (numerous times per hour)
• Lift occasionally up to 50 pounds (numerous times per day) and up to 75 pounds with assistance
• Walking and standing throughout the day as necessary to perform job duties
• Frequent bending, pushing, and pulling
• Work safely with various chemical solvents by using personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Pass a pre-employment drug test and subject to random drug screening.

Work Environment:

• Regular exposure to dust and noise in the production environment.
• Warehouse environment temperatures may be influenced by outside temperatures.

PPE Requirements:

• Adhere to company PPE requirements as indicated, per position.
