Fortis G Industries is seeking an experienced Geislinger Coupling Technical Representative to support a Main Propulsion Geislinger coupling overhaul project in Norfolk, Virginia.
Period of Performance: June 1 – August 28, 2026
Place of Performance: Norfolk, VA
Responsibilities:
- Attend project kick-off meeting with ship's force and government representatives
- Perform and document as-found measurements and readings
- Provide technical oversight and hands-on labor for disassembly of Geislinger couplings
- Conduct detailed inspections of all coupling components per OEM overhaul procedures
- Perform all overhaul and repair actions as specified
- Supervise reassembly and installation of overhauled couplings
- Install new spacer plates and studs as required
- Perform and document post-installation coupling alignment checks
- Prepare final service report including as-found/as-left measurements
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Geislinger coupling inspection, overhaul, and installation on naval vessels
- Experience with main propulsion systems on U.S. Navy surface combatants
- Ability to work aboard active U.S. Navy vessels and obtain base access
- Strong documentation and reporting skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Geislinger factory-certified technician
- Active security clearance or ability to obtain
Compensation:
- Competitive contract rate commensurate with experience
- Travel and per diem for qualified candidates.
