Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Certified Surgical Technologist Instructor/Sterile Processing Technician at our Houston, TX campus. The instructor will facilitate lectures, lead hands-on training for students, and develop engaging curricula to ensure comprehension of surgical technology principles and sterile processing techniques. Additional responsibilities include assessing student progress, providing feedback, and ensuring compliance with institutional academic standards. The instructor will serve as a mentor and role model for students aiming to pursue successful careers in the field.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Surgical Technology principles and practices, including instrumentation and procedures.
- Experience in the Operating Room with a focus on sterile environment management.
- Background in Surgical Assisting and knowledge of surgical processes and patient care.
- Understanding of Medicine and Surgery concepts, including aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
- Minimum of three years of field experience in a surgical technologist or sterile processing technician role.
- Previous teaching experience or instructional certifications are an advantage.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to engage and inspire students.
- Experience as Sterile Processing Technician with in field experience preferred.
