Skills/Competencies/Qualifications:
· Current active unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse or APRN in state of college/campus or multistate privilege to practice nursing in state.
· Graduate of an approved professional nursing education program.
· Baccalaureate degree in nursing and earned Master’s or Doctoral degree in nursing for Associate Degree program and an earned baccalaureate degree in nursing with enrollment and progress toward a Master degree in nursing for Practical Nursing program.
· At least five years practice experience as a Registered Nurse, with at least three years as a faculty member in a professional nursing education program.
· Minimum of one (1) year successful experience in an administrative or management role.
· Competent in personal computer applications: word processing, spreadsheet, database, and email.
· Excellent written, oral communication, and analytical skills.
· Ability to serve as a positive, supportive, and enthusiastic role model.
· Successful completion of criminal background check, drug screening, appropriate immunizations and CPR and HIPAA certification.
Position Summary:
The Dean of Nursing is responsible for providing leadership in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing program. At the same time, the Dean must facilitate responsiveness by the program to the needs of the community and the healthcare system as well as foster, within the program, an organizational culture that supports collegiality, personal well-being, and professional development of students, faculty, and staff. The Dean also serves as the representative of the program to the College/Campus administration, regulatory and accreditation bodies, Education Affiliates Nursing Division, the local advisory committee, and to other internal and external constituencies.
