What are the responsibilities and job description for the Founding Recruiter position at Forte'-Talent Acquisition, LLC.?
Our client is a Series A growing NYC based dynamic Startup, with great momentum, looking for a Founding Recruiter to help them continue to build one of the most talented teams in AI. You'll manage the recruiting funnel from day one — finding, closing, and onboarding the people who will define the company.
This is a founding recruiter role where you'll build the talent function from the ground up and have room to grow beyond recruiting into broader people strategy. You'll work directly with the Head of Operations and have significant impact on company growth.
- Highly competitive Comp package including Competitive equity
- 5 days in-office in New York. However, the company is reasonable and flexible if you need to take a work from home day here and there.
What You’ll Do
- :Manage our recruiting funnel — from sourcing and outbound to offer close — across engineering, GTM, and ops searches
- .Run sequences, screen candidates, and partner with hiring managers to move fast without dropping quality
- .Run aggressive outbound — build targeted lists, write compelling outreach, and get responses from passive candidates. You will treat sourcing the way a great SDR treats a pipeline
- .Develop a deep understanding of our talent bar — quickly learn what great looks like at the company so you can represent the role authentically and make sharp calls on who to advance
- .Build the system, not just fill the seats — design and iterate on our recruiting infrastructure: outreach templates, intake processes, ATS hygiene, and funnel analytics
- .Be a strategic talent partner — sit in on team planning, advise on comp, and contribute to org design as we continue scaling
- .Grow beyond recruiting — as you get your footing, partner with our Head of Ops on People strategy, candidate experience, onboarding, and other operational initiatives. This role grows with you
.Required Background and Skills
- :2–7 years of experience in recruiting, talent, or a highly agency, people-facing role (SDR, AE, partnerships)
- .A track record of closing candidates who have multiple, great options — you know how to sell a company, not just screen a resume
- .Experience running outbound recruiting or outbound sales — you know what it takes to get a response and turn it into a conversation
- .Comfort recruiting technical roles (engineering, infrastructure, devtools) or a demonstrated ability to get up to speed on technical concepts quickly
- .Strong instincts for talent — you can articulate why someone is good, not just that they checked the boxes
- .High agency — you figure out what needs to happen and do it. You move without waiting to be told
- .Excellent communication — you write well, talk clearly, and know how to move a candidate from intrigued to excited
.Preferred
- :You've recruited engineers at a venture-backed company, search firm, or on a VC talent team
- .You're comfortable in deep technical environments — you've worked alongside engineers, picked up the vocabulary, and know how to earn their trust as a thought partner
- .You’re an operator at heart and are constantly looking for ways to optimize what we’re doing as a team
- .You actively use AI tools to source faster, write better outreach, and do more with less
.Apply if you
- :Identify as a builder
- .Are excited to work in-person from our new and spacious office in New York
- .A bar raiser excited to take on a founding role and se the bar for how we hire
- .A closer that can land top talent and do more than coordinate a funnel
- .Love working in a startup environment (experience in a startup or obsession with going zero-to-one)
- .Enjoy working with people who are technical, ambitious, caring, and think in systems
- .Thrive in a fast-paced iterative environment where experimentation is essential
Salary : $150,000 - $220,000
