COMPANY OVERVIEW: Forte Products – a Plastics & Fiberglass manufacturer, is unique in the industry because we offer multiple molding processes out of four separate manufacturing plants. Forte Products offers a range of plastic manufacturing processes – rotational molding, vacuum forming and injection. We also offer substantial expertise in fiberglass manufacturing. We serve a wide range of industries such as, Commercial Airlines, Agriculture, Marine, Department of Defense, Lawn and Garden, Waste Services, Petroleum/C-Store and RV. 1st Shift: Monday- Thursday 7:00 AM- 5:00 PM
POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Warehouse/Forklift Operator is responsible for the organization and maintenance of inventory in the warehouse. The Warehouse/Forklift Operator is also responsible for coordinating all receiving activities to comply with warehouse operations, capacities and maintaining inventory counts and quality control procedures for incoming product shipments. The Warehouse/Forklift Operator must lead by example in the areas of Safety, Quality, Attendance, Attitude and Flexibility in the job.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a safe working environment for all individuals and promote constant use of PPE
- Maintain a high level of organization in the receiving area/warehouse/all inventory locations
- Maximize safety, quality and performance
- Prepare, complete, and stage orders for deliveries and/or pickup
- Prepare pallets, wrapping, and sorting finished goods into warehouse stock
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment relative to shipping needs
- Maintain proper identification of all inventory items in the facility
- Generate and ensure accuracy and legibility of all necessary receiving documentation (i.e., BOL, Packing List, Labeling, etc.)
- Match shipments to their associated purchase orders and enter receiving data to company database
- Organize inventory, unload and unpack delivery trucks and package items
- Tally product as it is being unloaded to verify quantities and eliminate errors (ship short/over)
- Report damage or shortages to the Warehouse manager
- Participation in inventories as required
- Other duties as needed
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Must be able to effectively and courteously communicate with co-workers, management and customers
- Ability to safely operate Yard Dog, a plus
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to perform under pressure, meet deadlines and maintain professionalism
- Highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and understand order requirements and receiving instructions
- Be flexible with shift work and overtime
- Excellent safety, quality and attendance records
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Driver's License
- High school education, GED, or equivalent experience
- Good computer skills (email, Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Access proficient)
- Knowledge of 5S requirements
- Forklift Certification
ENVIRONMENT
- Employee will perform duties outside as well as indoors throughout the non-climate-controlled general production and warehouse area
- Employee will continually move throughout the production floor between required workstations and other associates.
- Employee must be able to remain stationary 95% of the time with intermittent breaks.
- Employee will frequently operate manual and motorized material handling equipment.
- Employee must be able to interpret printed documents.
- Employee will frequently move up to 50 pounds
- Employee will frequently retrieve or move objects to or away from body.
- Employee will frequently move product to various storage methods
- Employee will occasionally access other levels of the building.
- Employee will frequently move or transport objects, up to 25 lbs., at or above shoulder level.
