Job Description
The instructional Assistant will support student learning using Montessori materials and district models in small group and one-on-one instruction. Successful candidate must be able to sit on the floor with students during some activities. This person shall support procedures, policies, and discipline within the classroom and building.
Qualifications
Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED. Prefer experience working with Montessori program; counseling and computer skills helpful and must have a strong desire to see students succeed. Must have a sincere concern for youth, a strong work ethic and the ability to positively motivate students.

Essential Functions
- Assist a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of
assignments in various subjects; provide instructional support to various teachers.
- Assist students in completing classroom assignments, homework and projects in various
emotional support, friendly attitude and general guidance.
- Perform a variety of clerical duties in support of classroom activities such as preparing,
and record grades; maintain student records and files as assigned.
- Assist teachers with implementing lesson plans; confer with the teacher concerning lesson plans and materials to meet student needs; explain and assure student
- Observe and control behavior of students in the classroom according to approved
