Duties
- Interpret and follow detailed blueprints, schematics, and production documents to assemble driveshaft components accurately
- Use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and machining equipment such as CNC lathes to perform precise mechanical assembly
- Conduct dimensional measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices to ensure parts meet specifications
- Weld components when required, adhering to safety standards and quality control protocols
- Perform heavy lifting and manual handling of driveshaft parts safely using proper techniques and equipment like forklifts when necessary
- Inspect assembled driveshafts for defects or deviations from blueprint specifications, applying quality control standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety procedures and protocols during assembly processes
Skills
- Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings accurately
- Proficiency in welding techniques and mechanical assembly processes
- Familiarity with machining tools such as CNC lathes and hand/power tools used in manufacturing environments
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and interpreting technical data
- Knowledge of safety standards in production environments including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety protocol adherence
- Experience with quality control defect detection through visual inspection and dimensional measurements
- Mechanical knowledge related to drivetrain components, schematics, pneumatic tools, and general manufacturing practices
- Ability to follow detailed instructions while maintaining high-quality workmanship in a fast-paced setting
