We are looking for a Surgical Technician with prior experience in Eye surgery/Laser to join our team. The surgical technician will be responsible for assisting surgeons with pre-operative preparations as well as ensuring that surgical instruments are properly sterilized and sterilization equipment is functioning properly. It is essential that our surgical technicians provide skilled assistance during surgery, keep accurate records and assist the physicians where needed.
Responsibilities:
To demonstrate knowledge of strict aseptic technique to provide the safest most optimum care to each patient. To assure quality care for the patient in the Operating Room. To assist the Surgeon with instrumentation and anticipate his/her needs.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma, Certified Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) is a must 3 years and Operating Room Experience in Eye surgery and Femto/ CATALYS Laser use.
-Checks room for cleanliness, availability of supplies and equipment at the beginning of the day. Open sterile packs and supplies, using surgeon's preference card for specific requests.
-Use supplies conservatively and efficiently
-Sets up back table and mayo using surgeon's preference card as a reference for instruments, medications, etc.
-Maintains proper sterile technique when gowning and gloving the Surgeon
-Assists with draping of patient and confirms the operative area
-Attaches light handles and hands-off to circulating nurse the appropriate equipment to begin the procedure. (Example: bovie, suction, light source, camera).
-Prepares soiled instruments for cleaning. Decontaminates and reprocesses in steam autoclave.
-Must be willing to learn and have transportation.

Pay: $25.00 - $34.00 per hour
