Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with clinical procedures, including medication administration, animal restraint, and sample collection.
- Care for animals by feeding, bathing, cleaning cages, and monitoring their health status in accordance with established protocols.
- Handle a variety of animals including dogs, and cats with confidence using proper animal handling techniques.
- Support laboratory work such as sample processing, testing, and maintaining aseptic techniques to ensure accurate results.
- Manage front desk duties including scheduling appointments, answering client inquiries, and maintaining accurate patient records.
- Restrain animals safely during examinations or procedures to minimize stress and ensure safety for both animals and staff.
- Assist with animal catheterization, laboratory tests, and other technical procedures requiring veterinary terminology knowledge.
Skills
- Proven kennel experience combined with animal husbandry skills to provide high-quality pet care.
- Veterinary technician or veterinary clinic experience demonstrating familiarity with clinical workflows.
- Critical care experience in veterinary settings to support emergency procedures and urgent patient needs.
- Strong animal handling skills across different species, including dogs and cats.
- Knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary terminology to assist effectively in clinical tasks.
- Ability to perform aseptic techniques during laboratory procedures or invasive treatments like catheterization.
- Excellent communication skills for front desk responsibilities and client interactions.
- Capable of working efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail in medication administration and record keeping.
