SUMMARY
The Fort Sill Apache Gaming Commission is seeking a qualified non-member individual, appointed by the Fort Sill Chiricahua Warm Springs Apache Business Committee, to serve as Gaming Commissioner #5. This is an appointed position responsible for overseeing and regulating gaming activities to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, thereby safeguarding the integrity and assets of the Fort Sill Chiricahua Warm Springs Apache Tribe and its gaming operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The Gaming Commissioner shall:
• Attend quarterly in-person Commission meetings and monthly virtual meetings.
• Review and evaluate compliance with gaming regulations, including:
o Fort Sill Apache Tribal Gaming Ordinance o National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS)
o State of Oklahoma Tribal-State Compact regulations
o Fort Sill Apache Gaming Commission Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS)
• Review and determine suitability of gaming license applications (new and renewal).
• Participate in required annual training on gaming regulatory issues.
• Review, draft, and approve regulatory documents and Commission actions as required.
• Carry out duties necessary to support the regulatory oversight responsibilities of the Gaming Commission.
Qualifications:QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must not be a member of the Fort Sill Apache Tribe. http://www.fsagc.org
• Must pass a background investigation and drug screening to obtain a Tribal gaming license.
• Minimum of ten (10) years accounting experience; OR Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field with at least five (5) years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and professional written communication.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST
Commissioners may hold other Tribal positions and may engage in business and gaming activities, except in operations authorized by this Ordinance. Commissioners and their immediate family members may not own an interest in or participate in gaming operations regulated by the Fort Sill Apache Tribal Gaming Ordinance.
COMPENSATION $1,300 monthly stipend
