Virtual School Coordinator (Supplemental Position)

Position Title: Virtual School Coordinator
Reports To: Superintendent and/or Designee
Position Type: Supplemental Assignment (Up to Two Positions Available)
Position Purpose
The Virtual School Coordinator supports the successful operation of the Fort Scott Tiger Virtual School by assisting students, families, and staff with enrollment, communication, progress monitoring, attendance oversight, and program implementation. The coordinator serves as a primary point of contact to help ensure students remain engaged, on track for academic success, and connected to district resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with student onboarding, orientation, and enrollment processes.
- Monitor student attendance, engagement, and academic progress.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and guardians regarding student performance and program expectations.
- Coordinate interventions and support for students experiencing academic or attendance concerns.
- Assist with state reporting, documentation, and compliance requirements related to virtual education.
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, administrators, and support staff to ensure student success.
- Support virtual school events, meetings, and student activities as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student participation and progress.
- Promote positive relationships with students and families while serving as an advocate for student success.
- Perform other duties related to the operation and improvement of the virtual school program as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current Kansas teaching license preferred.
- Experience in online, blended, alternative, or virtual learning environments preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and technology skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining collaboration with district personnel.
Terms of Employment
- Supplemental position for the 2026-2027 school year.
- Stipend to be determined.
- Up to two positions may be filled based on program needs.
