MONTHS PER YEAR: 12 HOURS PER WEEK: Exempt UPDATE: 6/2/26
Credentials
Bachelors Degree in CTE field or similar field OR 5 years of experience
of Workforce Development
Demonstrates experience in CTE field
Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work full time flexible hours, including evenings and
weekends
Understanding and experience with recruiting students to CTE programs.
Strong understanding of how to develop and grow apprenticeship program
Job Purpose
The CTE Development Coordinator will play a critical role in advancing
workforce development at Fort Scott
Community College by connecting students to high-demand careers
Construction Trades, Welding and Heavy
Equipment. This position will establish and foster triangular
partnerships between regional business and industry
partners, career service organizations, and FSCC Career and Technical
Education (CTE) programs.
The coordinator will lead collaboration efforts across the institution,
provide strategic direction for CTE growth and
innovation, and ensure alignment between academic programming and
regional workforce needs. This role will
also support the development and operational success of the FSCC
Technical Education and Careers (TEC ) as a
centralized hub for workforce training and credential attainment.
MAY BE REQUIRED TO: sit/stand for long periods of time, speak and hear
clearly, drive to various sites, lift
heavy objects to approximately 50 pounds. Must also be willing to work
flexible schedule to facilitate recruitment
needs and events.
Duties And Responsibilities
Partnership Development & Workforce Alignment
Build and maintain strong relationships with regional business and
industry partners
Facilitate collaboration between employers, career service entities, and
FSCCs Construction Trades,
Welding and Heavy Equipment programs.
Organize and help facilitate semesterly advisory board meetings
Ensure the programs align with regional workforce demands
May serve other programs as needed
Program Development & Operations
Coordinate office space and operational partnerships within the FSCC
TEC Center
Provide logistical support for Construction Trades, Welding and Heavy
Equipment which are housed in
TEC
Ensure students have a one-stop shop to access credentials and workforce
opportunities
Oversee appearance, organization, and functionality of TEC facilities
Compliance, Policy & Innovation
Establish and maintain safety and OSHA-related policies and procedures
Stay informed on workforce legislation and funding opportunities
Support continuous improvement and innovation in programming
Grants & Apprenticeships
Assist in implementation, tracking, and reporting of workforce grants
Lead development and oversight of FSCC Kansas Registered Apprenticeship
Program
Procurement & Resource Management
Oversee procurement processes for Construction Trades, Welding and Heavy
Equipment programs
Ensure resources and equipment align with industry standards
