Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Location Manager to lead the daily operations of one of our public accounting office locations. This leadership role is responsible for managing client relationships, supervising staff, overseeing service delivery, and contributing to the growth and success of the firm.
This position offers a clear pathway to partnership for the right candidate who demonstrates leadership, technical expertise, business development skills, and a commitment to client service and firm culture.
The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, relationship-focused, and capable of managing multiple service areas including tax, accounting, payroll, and audit services.
Key ResponsibilitiesOffice Leadership & Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the office location
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and administrative staff
- Manage workflow, scheduling, and staff productivity
- Foster a positive, team-oriented office culture
- Ensure high standards of professionalism, quality, and client service
Client Services
- Manage and grow relationships with business and individual clients
- Review and oversee tax returns, financial statements, payroll reports, and audit engagements
- Provide consulting and advisory services to clients
- Assist clients with financial, operational, and tax planning needs
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all engagements
Business Development
- Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and services
- Develop new business through networking and community involvement
- Represent the firm professionally within the local business community
- Participate in strategic planning and office growth initiatives
Financial & Operational Oversight
- Monitor office performance, profitability, and budgets
- Assist with staffing and hiring decisions
- Ensure compliance with firm policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
- Support implementation of technology and process improvements
Partnership Track
- Participate in firm leadership discussions and long-term planning
- Demonstrate the ability to build and retain a client base
- Contribute to firm growth, profitability, and culture
- Opportunity for future equity ownership based on performance and leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
- CPA certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- 15 years of accounting or public accounting experience preferred
- Prior supervisory or management experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of tax, accounting, payroll, and/or audit services
- Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Preferred Skills
- Experience working directly with small business clients
- Knowledge of QuickBooks and other accounting software
- Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities
- Business development or community leadership experience
