What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations & Logistics Coordinator (Inventory & Purchasing) position at Fort Myers Specialty Construction Company?
Job Title: Operations & Logistics Coordinator (Inventory & Purchasing)
Location: Fort Myers, FL
Compensation: $26 - $28/Hour
The Mission
We are a well established and fast-growing specialty construction company and we are looking for the "Air Traffic Controller" of our warehouse and yard. This isn't just a warehouse job; it is a high-level coordination role. You are the bridge between our sales team and our installation crews. If our crews have exactly what they need to succeed every morning, it's because of you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Inventory Gatekeeper: Track every post, rail, and bag of concrete. You'll manage stock levels so we never run out of essentials but aren't overstocked on "dead" inventory.
- The "Pick Ticket" Master: You will translate sold contracts into precise material lists. You'll ensure that when a crew leaves the yard, they have every screw, gate latch, and panel required for that specific job site.
- Strategic Purchasing: You will reach out to vendors to get competitive quotes, manage lead times, and ensure we are getting the best value for our materials.
- Quality Control: Inspect incoming shipments for damage and accuracy. If it's not "Superior" quality, it doesn't stay in our yard.
Who You Are
- Hyper-Organized: You are the person who color-codes their closet or has a spreadsheet for their personal budget.
- Problem Solver: When a supplier says a shipment is delayed, you don't just say "oh well"—you find a workaround.
- Logically Minded: You can look at a fence drawing and "see" the parts needed to build it.
- Local & Reliable: You know the SWFL area and understand the pace of our busy season.
Requirements
- You are are self starter and very detail oriented.
- Comfortable using (or learning) inventory management software.
- Ability to work outdoors in the Florida climate occasionally when auditing the yard.
- No experience? No problem. We will train the right person on our specific products if you bring the brainpower and the work ethic.
HOW TO APPLY (The "Detail Test")
To prove you are the detail-oriented person we are looking for, please include a brief cover letter or note with your application. In that note, tell us one thing you've organized in the past (a project, a pantry, a move, a previous job) that you are proud of.
Applications without this note will not be considered.
