Evaluation: Job performance evaluated annually in accordance with board policy
Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferred
- SC certified in Middle Level Math
- SC Certified in Elementary will be considered; must be willing to add Middle Level Math to certificate.
- Strong background in math curriculum
- At least five years of successful classroom experience in grades 3-8.
- Outstanding leadership and teamwork skills
- Expertise in the area of best practices for math
- Outstanding organizational and technology skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Performance Responsibilities
- Provides individual and small group instruction for identified students
- Conducts progress monitoring for students in intervention
- Assists with the identification process for students who need additional instruction
- Participates in student intervention team meetings and district level instructional meetings
- Confers with the principal on the needs of the math instructional program
- Assists in the selection of the district resources
- Participates in the district curriculum development process
- Supports teachers in the implementation of standards
- Assists with the development of math instructional programs
- Supports professional learning opportunities as directed by the principal
- Participates in professional learning workshops and conferences
- Completes reports and paperwork as required
- Collaborates with the specialists, lead teacher and interventionists
- Performs other appropriate duties as assigned by the principal
