Title: Grounds Maintenance Technician
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Minimum three to five years’ experience in grounds maintenance preferred.
- Ability to operate and maintain a commercial-grade mower, and other related equipment.
- Knowledge of irrigation equipment operations
- Ability to safely operate and maneuver a truck with trailer loaded with mower and equipment.
- Comply with all safety tules and regulations of trade.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Willing to occasionally perform work in poor weather conditions.
Reports to: Director of Maintenance and Maintenance Supervisor
Performance Responsibilities:
- Assume primary responsibility for the maintenance and safe condition of all Fort Mill School District sports fields playing surfaces, irrigation systems and immediate surrounding areas as required.
- Recommend and maintain supplies and equipment required to support all Fort Mill School District sport fields and irrigation systems.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director or Maintenance Supervisor.
Terms of Employment: 240 days per year, 8 hours per day, Non-exempt, FMSD M2 Salary Schedule posted on website. Salary commensurate with education and experience based on district formula.
Evaluation: Performance on this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the board’s policy on evaluation of non-certified personnel.
