Responsibilities and Duties
Perform record keeping duties, perform clerical duties related to patient care and treatment, and to provide miscellaneous support to the veterinary practice manager and health care team. These service functions include, but are not limited to: reception (visitor and telephone), maintenance of veterinary medical records, accounts maintenance, cash processing, data entry, word processing and mail service. This position requires a practical knowledge of hospital organization and services, the basic rules and regulations governing visitors and animal patient treatment, data transcribing, word processing, and a practical knowledge of the standard procedures, veterinary records and terminology used in the hospital.
Qualifications and Skills
Must have at least 1-2 years of experience in veterinary reception.
Must be responsible, dependable, task oriented, and service minded. General understanding of biology is a plus.
Must be able to receive and follow instructions and complete tasks as assigned.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds and help clients and patient in and out of the clinic as needed.
Must be self-motivated, assertive, eager to learn, and have a strong work ethic.
Must be tech savvy and capable of learning and using veterinary management software system.
Must be able to prioritize tasks, have excellent communication skills in person and on the phone, maintain professional decorum, be able to work well under pressure, and be a team member.'
