HOURS PER WEEK: 40

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities include supervision of shift security personnel, including Security Operations Center Operators, directing subordinates, completing disciplinary reports, and recommending discipline as necessary. Responsible for scheduling employees and reviewing timecards before submission to the payroll department. Responsible for completing performance evaluations and absence reports. Shift Managers have specific training responsibilities as assigned by the Security Director. Responsible for interacting and assisting Casino supervisors and personnel as necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Provide Security escort services as requested, or as required by WCR and Security Department Policies and Procedures.
• Coordinate and cooperate with other WCR and other designated FM Enterprise managers and employees, and local emergency services responding to incidents occurring on WCR and other designated FM Enterprise property.
• Direct the monitoring and operation of Security Operations Center communications, alarm and security systems.
• Provide guidance, direction, training, and instruction for uniform Security personnel within his/her area of responsibility, and document and recommend, or administer disciplinary actions when necessary. Document exceptional or deficient performance by uniform Security personnel and prepare and present employee evaluations for subordinates.
• Review Security Department documentation submitted by uniform Security personnel for completeness and accuracy, and direct necessary corrections of it, ensure that the security shift is adequately staffed and assign uniform Security personnel to specific tasks, including special events, directly supervise security services for special events as necessary, ensure that appropriate notifications concerning incidents are made as necessary, ensure that uniform Security Personnel properly use the computerized timekeeping system.
• Inspect Security Department vehicles and equipment during the assigned shift for the purpose of ensuring their proper upkeep and maintenance.
• Perform any other duties as directed by Security Department management.
• Assures that shifts are adequately staffed.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and to make logical decisions in situations requiring tact and discretion. Errors in judgment would have a significant impact on the property.
• Must exercise sound judgment in establishing priorities for the shift.
• Ability to exercise sound leadership skills. Good organization and communication skills.
• Proficiency in radio, telephone, verbal, and written communication is required.
• Able to interact effectively with, and assist members of the public, and FM Enterprise employees and management.
• Able and willing to work any shift and hours as assigned by the Security Department or Casino management, or as necessitated by special circumstances.
• Patrol and direct the patrol of WCR and other designated FM Enterprise facilities and grounds for the purpose of detecting and preventing the occurrence of crimes and other security-related incidents on FMC and other designated FM Enterprise property; conduct and direct the conducting of preliminary investigations of reported or detected crimes and other security-related incidents occurring on FMC and other designated FM Enterprise property; document daily activity and preliminary investigations.
• Ensure that all uniform Security personnel within his/her area of responsibility are knowledgeable of and comply with the Tribal Gaming Ordinance, the appendices of the Ordinance, WCR Policies, and all Security Department Policies and Procedures.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug testing.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license from the Arizona Department of Gaming and the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation.
• Must possess a current, valid Arizona driver’s license and have the ability to legally and safely operate a motorized vehicle.
• Physical requirements of the job may include prolonged periods of standing or walking and lifting or carrying weights in excess of 40 pounds.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• A minimum of two (1-2) years of progressive supervisory/management experience is required.
• Experience in civilian or military law enforcement or corrections, or comparable industrial security settings is preferred.
• Preference is commensurate with the level of experience.
