Role:

The Member Service Representative I (MSR I) is a full-service liaison between the members and the Credit Union. The MSR I will perform transactions, open accounts, resolve issues, originate loans, and guide the lobby. In this role, the MSR I will be offering members a personal experience from the moment they enter the branch, to the moment they leave.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

-Accurately processes financial transactions in accordance with cash-control standards and protocols (i.e. placing appropriate holds, examining checks for proper endorsements, etc.).

-Responsible for rotating branch duties, including cash transactions and new account functions.

-Supports member retention and relationship expansion through regular contact with existing and potential members.

-Maintains a thorough knowledge of all credit union products and services with the understanding of their features and benefits, as well as their processes, guidelines, and procedures.

-Maintains a thorough knowledge of credit union's core software including referrals, sales and contact events, phone logs, extended information, and reports.

-Possesses a good understanding of the consumer loan process, guidelines, and a complete understanding of share certificates.

-Explains consumer loan products to members, assess members' needs, and recommend loan options. Request, evaluate, and interpret credit worthiness to ensure compliance with Fort McClellan Credit Union products and services.

-Balances the branch vault, ATM, and cash machines, as necessary.

-Fills in at other branches as needed (travel required).

-Responsible for following all BSA/OFAC policies and procedures.

-Follows all physical and online security procedures and maintains strict confidentiality of all member information.

-Maintains a professional image and demeanor at all times, consistently adhering to the dress code outlined in Fort McClellan Credit Union’s Employee Handbook.

-Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

-Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Experience:

One month to twelve months of similar or related experience.

Education:

A high school education or GED.

Interpersonal Skills:

Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Physical Requirements:

-Seeing: Must be able to read reports and use computer regularly.

-Intermittent standing, sitting, walking, bending and climbing.

-Using hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate computers and other standard office equipment.

-Reaching with hands and arms.

-Intermittent lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds.
