What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Manager- Pk-6 Lower Elementary position at Fort Madison Community School District?
Position Summary:
The food service manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the school food service kitchen. This includes managing staff, planning, and preparing menus; ensuring food safety and sanitation, handling inventory, ordering supplies and record-keeping are completed. The manager is also responsible for ensuring every meal that is served meets the USDA nutritional standards.
Hours: 6 hours: (7:00 am-1:00 pm) Pay: $14.00 per hour
Qualifications: The qualified applicant must have a minimum of a high school diploma or grade level equivalent diploma (GED), be able to pass a background check and lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
Roles and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Maintain a cheery disposition with all children, staff and co-workers.
- Supervise food service employees.
- Complete daily paperwork and bank deposits.
- Order grocery/kitchen supplies.
- Follow recipes and use kitchen scales and measuring utensils to prepare meals.
- Portion and serve food to students and staff.
- Record food and equipment temperatures.
- Maintain inventory.
- Clean and store utensils, trays, pans and kitchen equipment.
- Clean lunchroom,kitchen and equipment after use.
- Maintain high degree of sanitation.
- Obtain Food Production Manager Sanitation Certification.
- Complete probationary and yearly performance.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work.
- Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others.
- Attend work regularly and promptly.
- Complete required district training.
- Other duties as assigned
