The Jr/Sr High School Secretary is responsible for managing the daily operations of the school's administrative office. Building administration determines the building secretary start and end dates each school year, a tentative schedule is provided. On days when school has been cancelled, secretaries do not report to work. These days will be made up and could affect the tentative end date.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to principal and other building administration.
- Greet and assist students, parents, staff, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls and respond to emails.
- Additional time worked for building functions including parent/teacher conferences.
- Maintain student records, attendance, and confidential files as assigned.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, meeting agendas, and other documents.
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and school events for administrators.
- Coordinate various jr/sr high functions.
- Maintain office supplies and coordinate equipment maintenance.
- Assist with payroll, purchase orders, and budget-related paperwork as assigned.
- Support teachers and administrators with clerical and administrative tasks.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries.
- Invoice student fees and make deposits.
- Operate standard office equipment, including computers, copiers, scanners, and multi-line phone systems.
- Ensure compliance with district policies and student privacy regulations.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and assist with school safety procedures.
- New secretary must complete a 45-day probation.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students by executing school emergency procedures and protocols effectively during drills and real emergencies.
- Attend work regularly and promptly-FMCSD attendance expectation for staff is 95%.

- Monitor expenditures
- Ensure compliance with financial and programmatic reporting requirements
- Arrange travel and registration for professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with instructors to provide materials and technologies to CTE students.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- Previous administrative or secretarial experience, preferably in an educational setting.
- Proficiency in online platform navigation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
