What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Technician position at Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center?
Responsibilities
Performs clinical laboratory testing requiring the exercise of independent judgment and discretion as per established procedures that includes: Bacteriology, Blood Banking, Chemistry, Hematology/Coagulation, Serology, and Urinalysis. Performs phlebotomy duties as required and is assigned supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
Licensure, Certification, Registration, etc.: Certification as a Medical Technologist by ASCP, NCA, or HEW.
Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to perform phlebotomy duties for neonate, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required. Graduate from an approved school of medical technology - Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
