Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the operation of diagnostic CT and X-ray, the performance of all CT procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision. Possess a positive and courteous attitude, and take the initative to go beyond what is expected in a teamwork environment.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Identifies each patient, reviews each patient's chart and previous examinations for consistency (examination ordered/clinical diagnosis), and records pertinent data at all times.
2. Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examination to radiologist, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
3. Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images, and ensures proper film identification on all images
4. Must be able to take call when required.
5. Must perform quality control.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
1. Graduate of a recognized, approved American Medical Association Council of Education program in radiologic technology; associate's degree preferred.
2. Previous experience as a CT-Tech in an acute care environment is preferred
Licensure:
1. Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; Certification by A.R.R.T on Computer Tomography or registry eligible.
2.Certification by Texas Medcial Board
3. BLS Required
Skills:
1. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Ability to recognize subtle differences between healthy and pathological areas.
2. Knowledge of radiographic examinations as well as procedures that require the use of contrast agents.
3. Knowledge of radiographic equipment operation and radiation safety.
4. Knowledge of patient transfers and positioning technique.
