Records Specialist
- Inputs and transfers reports and supplements into computer database; Prepares records for scanning and archiving.
- Assists and responds to public and other law enforcement personnel at lobby window or by telephone and/or directs to appropriate person.
- Answers incoming mail, fax and NCIC/TCIC for inquiries on reports and background checks.
- Files and maintains filing system for all official accident, case and jail records for the department; Maintains security for all records.
- Maintains cash fund and prepares weekly cash deposits.
- Prepares TLETS validations.
- Prepares computer merges.
- Prepares information requested in subpoenas for court appearances and information requested in Open Records Request.
- Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
- U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident
- High School Diploma/GED
- Six months job related experience
- Good computer and typing skills.
- Working knowledge of database software.
- Good verbal and written communication skills along with bookkeeping and organizational skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, and elected officials.
- Ability to prioritize own work.
- TCIC/NCIC Less than Full Access within first year of employment.
- Valid Texas Driver's License
