• Accepts and p rocesses transactions for various types of taxes, including motor vehicle and property tax payments ; sets up and monitors payment plan agreements.
• Assists taxpayers and the public by responding to questions, or directing them to the proper person.
• Collects payments and fees, submits payments and makes change. Balances and inputs daily transactions. Assist Internal Auditors.
• Maintains knowledge of current laws and regulations relating to motor vehicles, and sales tax laws and procedures.
• Files customer records, including any supporting documentation and information from other agencies. Prepares transaction reports, as needed, for the State.
• Tracks and ensures the security of State accountable items, and is held personally accountable for shortages.
• Assists other employees with more complicated transactions ; Trains new employees.
• Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

REQUIREMENTS:

SALARY RANGE: $16.34-$20.43/Hourly

CLOSING DATE: Upon filling position
