  • Represents the State/County in civil commitment hearings involving Applications for Court-Ordered Temporary Mental Health Services, motions, discovery, briefs, calls, conferences, correspondence, investigation and research.
  • Reviews civil commitment cases in their entirety litigation strategies; attends court, as required, for all cases assigned.
  • Reviews and makes recommended changes to Sr. Coordinator’s and Coordinator’s work product; manages case flow while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Drafts and reviews documents related to real estate transactions.
  • Provides legal advice to county officials and department heads and responds to requests from the public.
  • Other duties as determined by the County Attorney.
  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Doctor of Jurisprudence; Licensed by the Texas Supreme Court.
  • 4 years job related experience required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the
  • public, elected officials and department directors/managers.
  • Licensed by the Texas State Bar.

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $50.78 - $63.48 hourly based on qualifications

CLOSING DATE: Upon filling position
