What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Instructor-Stokes, Nursing position at Forsyth Technical Community College?
The Part-time Clinical Instructor, Nursing, will be responsible for face-to face clinical teaching assignments in clinical settings. The hours and shifts for this position are flexible and can vary but generally fall between the hours of 6 am and 7:30 pm. The salary for this position will be based on experience and academic credentials.
Minimum Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Nursing Note: Degrees and hours must be from a college accredited by a US Department of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACSCOC.
- Two years or more of nursing experience.
- Unrestricted RN license.
- Work experience and/or teaching experience in medical/surgical nursing.
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing. Note: Degrees and hours must be from a college accredited by a US Department of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACSCOC.**
- Successful teaching experience.
- Previous work experience in a fundamentals setting such as hospitals, and/or skilled nursing facilities.
Essential Duties:
- Assume responsibility for teaching assignments as designated by the program coordinator and approved by the director and dean.
- Assume responsibility for maintaining all required College records including attendance and grade reports, roll books, etc.
- Compile bibliographies of specialized materials or outside reading assignments as applicable.
- Make recommendations to the Department Chair for supplies, equipment, and equipment repairs.
- Facilitate the learning process by designing and implementing inclusive instructional activities in clinical that are appropriate, meaningful and that maximize student outcomes.
- Provides timely, constructive, and thoughtful written/verbal feedback to students regarding clinical paperwork course performance, and progress toward the achievement of learning outcomes.
- Provide mentorship and support through engagement in clinical learning.
- Assume responsibility for being familiar with and adhering to all college and departmental policies and guidelines.
- Demonstrate practice of fostering a welcoming environment in the clinical setting and among your team, as well as experience working in a diverse environment.
