General Description

JOIN OUR TEAM AS A LEAD INVENTORY SPECIALIST!

Responsible advanced work in the operation of a medium to large storeroom. Requires the ability to work with a large and complex computerized inventory system. Work involves the direction of employees engaged in clerical and manual support tasks to include the handling, purchasing, ordering, receipt, storage, issuance, and record maintenance of stock and non stock items. Works under the general supervision of the Warehouse Manager.

Essential Job Functions

Directs, instructs, and participates in the work of assigned warehouse employees. Performs the processing of requisitions and issuance of supplies in accordance with prescribed procedures. Performs the maintenance of perpetual inventories and related records and reports. Maintains the maintenance of minimum and maximum stock amounts.

Assists with the creation and analysis of bid specifications for materials, supplies, and tools. Monitors inventory usage to plan an even flow of materials through the warehouse. Assists with daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy. Assists with the purchasing/securing/issuance of stock and non stock items for customers. Reviews product inventory and reports to maintain and improve inventory efficiency. Creates and issues multiple quotes, requisitions, and bids for stocked items. Develops storage methods, bin layout, and facilities for safe storage of materials. Performs related work as required.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Knowledge of warehousing methods and procedures.
  • Knowledge of materials, supplies, and equipment stocked in the warehouse.
  • Ability to keep detailed, computer generated inventory and stock control records and to prepare reports.
  • Ability to plan an even flow of materials through the warehouse.
  • Ability to operate small to medium sized forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Ability to plan, supervise, assign, and direct the work of crew of subordinate employees.

Minimum Requirements

PHYSICAL SKILL: Ability to climb, bend, stoop, walk, and squat frequently. Ability to lift up to 60 pounds. Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school or an acceptable equivalency diploma. Two (2) years of experience in warehousing. Experience in making minor repairs on small tools and equipment.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.
