Forsyth County General Services Department is seeking a dedicated and hard working Maintenance Technician II - HVAC. An employee in this position maintains a variety of HVAC systems throughout Forsyth County Government facilities that could also include the Law Enforcement Detention Center..
The work involves preventive maintenance and repairs to the HVAC equipment. Specific examples of work include changing air filters, adjusting and replacing belts on equipment, cleaning vents and lubricating equipment. Troubleshooting to include, charging HVAC equipment, soldering and brazing, troubleshooting equipment with a multi-meter, calibrating and changing t-stat and navigating building automation programs. Complete troubleshooting on residential type HVAC units to include checking for proper supply voltage, checking fuses, belts, dirty coils, rotation of equipment.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
Graduation from high school or GED and at least three years of experience in the relevant building trade (HVAC).
A valid driver's license.
This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent criminal background check.
A higher education may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience requirements.

Considerable knowledge of the materials, tools and methods used in a building trade such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical work or in grounds maintenance.
Working knowledge of one or more additional trades.

Ability to oversee the work of others.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
