What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician I (Tanglewood Park) position at Forsyth County (NC)?
Forsyth County's Park and Recreation Department has a great opportunity to work in an outdoor environment in western Forsyth County. Tanglewood Park is seeking a motivated individual that would be interested in working in a part-time year-round Maintenance Technician I position.
This position performs duties associated with park maintenance operations and will have direct interaction with park patrons and will provide information and instruction to guest that are utilizing park facilities and assist with requests to ensure that facility is acceptable for rental period. Responsible for operation and general maintenance of a variety of small equipment.
Work shifts and schedules will be varied due to seasonal operational requirements:
January - March: Monday-Thursday 7:00 am - 12:00 pm
April - August: Monday-Thursday 7:00 am -- 2:00 pm
September - October: Monday-Thursday 7:00 am - 2:30 pm
November - December: Monday-Thursday 7:00 am - 2:00 pm

Maintaining public picnic shelters
Cleaning public restrooms and replenishing public restroom supplies
Trash removal and pet waste stations
Maintenance of park grounds such as mulching, spreading gravel, repair fencing, leaf removal, snow removal, trail maintenance and general grounds maintenance tasks.
Volleyball and horseshoe pit maintenance
Cleaning of public grills
Lock and unlock access gates and facilities.
Assist park patrons and provide information and instruction to guest that are utilizing park facilities and assist with requests to ensure that facility is acceptable for rental period.
Will assist with the installation and dismantling of light displays for the annual Festival of Lights.
May assist with the completion of small projects and work requests such as picnic table repair, staining, fencing and painting.
May assist with duties associated with special event preparations and clean up.
Performs all related work as required
