Forsyth County's Communications department is looking to fill an open IT Web Developer/Content Specialist. The IT Web Developer/Content Specialist uses skills in interactive design, visual design and browser compatibility to design, deploy and maintain complex web designs and web content. An employee in this position will work with the Forsyth County Communications department, web editors and MIS staff to support the County Intranet and multiple public websites.
This position is also responsible for training a variety of users in use of both Intranet and Internet technology. Work is performed independently under general supervision and is evaluated by a review of work performed and reports from users regarding the effectiveness and timeliness of the work performed.

A successful candidate should have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
Ability to train a variety of users of varying skill levels.
Knowledge of interactive design, visual design and browser compatibility.
Ability to research and make recommendations regarding emerging web technology.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Working knowledge of web development technologies and software.
Considerable knowledge of web layout and design techniques.
Ability to perform all aspects of web content management.Graduation from two-year technical college and two years of experience working with web technology.
Must have a valid NC Driver license.
Working knowledge of HTML and CSS is required.
Experience with Adobe Photoshop and jQuery JavaScript Library is strongly preferred. Experience in graphic design, written communication and documentation as well as user contact is also strongly preferred.
A higher education level may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience requirement.
