A high-growth retail organisation is seeking a Senior Data Manager to lead U.S. data operations and drive the maturity of its data function. This role blends hands-on technical work with team leadership and is ideal for someone experienced in fast-paced retail or multi-unit environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily data operations, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and strong governance.
- Manage a multi-disciplinary data team across analytics, engineering, BI, and integrations.
- Own the data backlog, prioritisation, delivery, and support of data products.
- Oversee the design and optimisation of pipelines, models, and dashboards.
- Translate stakeholder requirements into actionable work and provide clear status updates.
- Improve workflows, documentation, data quality, and technical standards.
- Handle issue resolution, environment management, and change approval processes.
Technical Requirements
- Advanced SQL, Python, Databricks/Spark.
- Azure Data Stack (ADF, Synapse, Data Lake, Functions preferred, DevOps).
- Power BI & DAX (advanced modelling and optimisation).
- API/integration experience.
Preferred Experience
- Retail/QSR/FMCG data (POS, store systems, supply chain, etc.).
- Dimensional modelling; data governance; master data exposure.
- Leading offshore or vendor teams; working in agile environments.
