Duties
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate concrete finishing according to project specifications.
- Prepare work sites by setting up formwork, installing rebar reinforcement, and ensuring proper placement of concrete forms.
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely to pour, level, smooth, and finish concrete surfaces on floors, walls, sidewalks, and other structures.
- Execute precise concrete finishing techniques such as troweling, floating, edging, and brooming to achieve desired textures and finishes.
- Manage concrete pouring operations using mixers and pumps; coordinate with heavy equipment operators for efficient material placement.
- Install various surface treatments including stucco, plastering, caulking, tile laying, flooring installation, and drywall finishing as needed.
- Adhere strictly to construction workplace safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe environment for all team members.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks and operate heavy machinery or equipment when required for large-scale projects or restoration work.
Experience
- Proven experience working on construction projects with a focus on concrete finishing or related masonry work.
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating processes and interpreting construction plans and technical schematics.
- Familiarity with construction workplace safety regulations and best practices for safe operation of hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment.
- Hands-on experience with concrete forming, cutting, pouring, pumping, and finishing techniques.
- Background in carpentry, masonry, framing carpentry or renovation projects is highly advantageous.
- Ability to interpret blueprint specifications accurately and execute detailed work accordingly.
- Demonstrated capability in heavy lifting tasks, working at heights (roofing), restoration projects or commercial site environments is preferred.
